Overview

Experience a new level of skin rejuvenation with the Dr. Pen A20 Microneedling System – a cordless, medical-grade microneedling pen that blends beauty innovation with clinical precision. Designed for professional use, the A20 creates controlled micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen production and natural repair, helping improve skin texture and tone. It is indicated for the treatment of facial acne scars in adults 22 and over, making it ideal for tackling stubborn acne scarring and revitalizing the complexion with minimal downtime. Engineered to the highest standards, this device is Health Canada–licensed and manufactured under a certified quality system, ensuring safety and efficacy in every treatment. (Prescription use only – for trained professionals.)

The Dr. Pen A20 features an ergonomic, pen-shaped handpiece that sits comfortably in your hand for precise maneuvering. A simple twist of the depth adjustment ring lets you set the needle depth to target different skin concerns, while the built-in LED display shows speed settings and battery status at a glance. The high-speed motor offers 6 adjustable speed levels (ranging from 6,300 to 7,700 RPM), so you can customize the intensity for each client’s needs. A disposable protective sleeve covers the device during each session to maintain strict hygiene and prevent cross-contamination. With its cordless, rechargeable design and approximately 2-hour battery life, the A20 gives you the freedom to perform treatments without being tethered to an outlet – simply charge it on the base between sessions.

Key Features

  • Cordless & Rechargeable: Powered by a long-lasting lithium-ion battery for up to ~2 hours of continuous use per charge. The wireless design and included charging base provide convenience and unrestricted movement during treatments.
  • Adjustable Needle Depth: Fine-tune the needle penetration depth (via an easy-grip adjustment ring) from shallow to deeper settings (0 to 2.5 mm) to address various skin concerns. This precision control allows personalized treatments – from gentle collagen induction therapy to targeted scar revision.
  • 6-Speed Motor (6300–7700 RPM): Six intensity levels allow you to customize treatment speed and power. The high-speed motor operates with smooth, vertical needle oscillation for efficient micro-channeling and comfortable client experience. Speed and battery levels are indicated on the LED display for simple monitoring.
  • Medical-Grade 14-Needle Cartridges: Uses H14 cartridge tips featuring 14 ultra-fine needles made of medical-grade stainless steel. Each cartridge is sterile, single-use, and EO gas–sterilized for optimal safety. The 14-pin configuration and sharp, surgical-quality needles ensure effective collagen stimulation while minimizing trauma to the skin. (Additional replacement cartridges can be purchased separately as needed.)
  • Ergonomic Handpiece: Lightweight, pen-style handpiece is designed for comfort and control. The balanced, ergonomic design reduces hand fatigue during lengthy procedures and helps maintain precision when treating delicate facial areas.
  • Protective Sleeve for Hygiene: Each treatment uses a disposable protective sleeve that slips over the device to create a barrier against contaminants. This added layer of protection keeps the A20 pen clean and helps prevent any cross-contamination between clients, reinforcing strict clinical hygiene standards.
  • Clinical Precision & Quality: The Dr. Pen A20 is a licensed medical device built to meet rigorous clinical requirements. Its advanced oscillation technology and quality construction ensure consistent needle performance (uniform depth and penetration) for reliable, professional results with each use.

Important Safety & Use Information

Prescription Use Only (Rx): The Dr. Pen A20 is intended for prescription use only. It should be sold and used only by licensed healthcare professionals (such as dermatologists, physicians, or certified medical aestheticians) who are trained in proper microneedling techniques. Adequate clinical training and experience are required before using this device on patients.

Operating Precautions: Always follow the device instructions and safety guidelines. Use only the provided charger and base to recharge the pen. Do not use the device while it is charging, and keep the power adapter away from water or moisture to avoid electrical shock. Inspect the handpiece and cables before each use – do not operate if the device or cord is damaged. The A20 has been engineered with built-in safety features, but treatments should still be performed in a clean, professional setting with appropriate aseptic techniques.

Single-Use Cartridges & Hygiene: Never reuse or resterilize needle cartridges. Each H14 cartridge is designed for one-time use on a single patient. After each treatment, immediately dispose of the used cartridge in a proper sharps/biohazard container. Use a new sterile cartridge for every session to ensure patient safety and optimal results. The protective sleeves are also single-use – discard the sleeve after each session. Always sanitize your hands and wear gloves when handling the device and cartridges.

Cleaning & Maintenance: After each use, clean the device handpiece by wiping it down with an appropriate medical-grade disinfectant wipe or soft cloth lightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. (Do not soak or autoclave the device, and take care to prevent liquids from entering the motor or battery compartment.) Allow the device to fully dry before storing. Store the Dr. Pen A20 in a cool, dry place. For any maintenance issues or if the device malfunctions, discontinue use and contact the supplier or manufacturer for service.

Important: Microneedling cartridges must be sterilized before each use to ensure the treatment is safe and hygienic. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Prepare gloves, 70%+ isopropyl alcohol solution, and a clean container.
2. Wear gloves to avoid contamination.
3. Inspect needles for bending or debris.
4. Submerge the needle head in alcohol solution for several minutes, or spray thoroughly.
5. Allow to air dry completely before attaching to the device.

Disclaimer: This device is a medical tool and should be used in accordance with its approved indications and instructions. Outcomes can vary based on individual skin condition and proper use of the device. Always obtain a client’s informed consent prior to treatment and ensure they understand the expected benefits and possible side effects (e.g. temporary redness or irritation). Do not use the Dr. Pen A20 on any active infections, open wounds, or areas of inflamed skin. If there are any doubts about a client’s suitability for microneedling, consult a physician. By purchasing this product, you acknowledge that you are a trained professional or will use the device under appropriate supervision. Always prioritize patient safety and adhere to all local regulations when using the Dr. Pen A20 Microneedling System.

Microneedling Treatment Protocol - For professional use only

Step 1: Sterilise & uncap cartridge. Inspect packaging for integrity. Remove the sterile cap immediately before use. Confirm the cartridge is within expiry and undamaged.

Step 2: Attach the cartridge to the device. Align the cartridge, then click it into the A20 handpiece. Test-fire away from the client to confirm even needle protrusion before beginning.

Step 3: Double-cleanse & prep the client. Remove all makeup, SPF, and product residue with an oil-based cleanser, followed by a gentle foaming cleanser. Tie hair back securely.

Step 4: Set needle depth & speed. Select parameters appropriate to the treatment zone and client skin type. Begin conservatively with first-time clients and adjust based on skin response.

Step 5: Apply HA serum section by section. Apply a generous layer of medical-grade Hyaluronic Acid serum to one section at a time — immediately before needling that area. Replenish throughout treatment as needed.

Step 6: Needle using multi-directional passes. Glide the pen in smooth overlapping passes (vertical, horizontal, and diagonal) with light, consistent pressure. 3–4 passes per direction is standard. The device motor drives penetration; do not press down.

Step 7: Dispose of cartridge. Remove the used cartridge and discard it immediately into an approved sharps container. Single-use only; reuse is a serious infection control breach. Sanitise the handpiece per guidelines.

Post-treatment: Apply a calming serum or mask. Advise client to avoid sun, heat, actives, and makeup for 24–48 hours. Provide written aftercare instructions and document treatment in the client's file.

Usage Frequency: Every 4–6 weeks. Visible results usually appear within the first two sessions.

DO NOT USE

  • On open wounds
  • On acne or irritated skin
  • If irritation occurs
  • The same cartridge more than once

The 14-pin cartridge is NOT suitable for hair loss treatments.
