Important Safety & Use Information

Prescription Use Only (Rx): The Dr. Pen A20 is intended for prescription use only. It should be sold and used only by licensed healthcare professionals (such as dermatologists, physicians, or certified medical aestheticians) who are trained in proper microneedling techniques. Adequate clinical training and experience are required before using this device on patients.

Operating Precautions: Always follow the device instructions and safety guidelines. Use only the provided charger and base to recharge the pen. Do not use the device while it is charging, and keep the power adapter away from water or moisture to avoid electrical shock. Inspect the handpiece and cables before each use – do not operate if the device or cord is damaged. The A20 has been engineered with built-in safety features, but treatments should still be performed in a clean, professional setting with appropriate aseptic techniques.

Single-Use Cartridges & Hygiene: Never reuse or resterilize needle cartridges. Each H14 cartridge is designed for one-time use on a single patient. After each treatment, immediately dispose of the used cartridge in a proper sharps/biohazard container. Use a new sterile cartridge for every session to ensure patient safety and optimal results. The protective sleeves are also single-use – discard the sleeve after each session. Always sanitize your hands and wear gloves when handling the device and cartridges.

Cleaning & Maintenance: After each use, clean the device handpiece by wiping it down with an appropriate medical-grade disinfectant wipe or soft cloth lightly dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. (Do not soak or autoclave the device, and take care to prevent liquids from entering the motor or battery compartment.) Allow the device to fully dry before storing. Important: Microneedling cartridges must be sterilized before each use to ensure the treatment is safe and hygienic. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Prepare gloves, 70%+ isopropyl alcohol solution, and a clean container.
2. Wear gloves to avoid contamination.
3. Inspect needles for bending or debris.
4. Submerge the needle head in alcohol solution for several minutes, or spray thoroughly.
5. Allow to air dry completely before attaching to the device.

Microneedling Treatment Protocol - For professional use only

Step 1: Sterilise & uncap cartridge. Inspect packaging for integrity. Remove the sterile cap immediately before use. Confirm the cartridge is within expiry and undamaged.

Step 2: Attach the cartridge to the device. Align the cartridge, then click it into the A20 handpiece. Test-fire away from the client to confirm even needle protrusion before beginning.

Step 3: Double-cleanse & prep the client. Remove all makeup, SPF, and product residue with an oil-based cleanser, followed by a gentle foaming cleanser. Tie hair back securely.

Step 4: Set needle depth & speed. Select parameters appropriate to the treatment zone and client skin type. Begin conservatively with first-time clients and adjust based on skin response.

Step 5: Apply HA serum section by section. Apply a generous layer of medical-grade Hyaluronic Acid serum to one section at a time — immediately before needling that area. Replenish throughout treatment as needed.

Step 6: Needle using multi-directional passes. Glide the pen in smooth overlapping passes (vertical, horizontal, and diagonal) with light, consistent pressure. 3–4 passes per direction is standard. The device motor drives penetration; do not press down.

Step 7: Dispose of cartridge. Remove the used cartridge and discard it immediately into an approved sharps container. Single-use only; reuse is a serious infection control breach. Sanitise the handpiece per guidelines.

Post-treatment: Apply a calming serum or mask. Advise client to avoid sun, heat, actives, and makeup for 24–48 hours. Provide written aftercare instructions and document treatment in the client's file.

Usage Frequency: Every 4–6 weeks. Visible results usually appear within the first two sessions.
